A federal High Court in Abuja the Nigeria Federal Capital territory has issued an interim injunction restricting Dele Farotimi from publishing, selling or distributing copies whether physical, digital and otherwise of his book , "Nigeria and it's Criminal Justice System."
Wistlers blog it is believed that this injunction is extended to Dele Farotimi's agents, publishers and other online bookstores like Amazon, Ravinheights, Glendora and others.
Petr Kekemode issued an order after an ex-parte application filled by Kehinde Ogunwunmiju (SAN) a partner at the Afe Babalola law firm.
Nigeria security outfits including, the police ,have been ordered to seize any copies of the book from all outlets where it is sold both physical, digital from online stores pending the hearing and determination of a motion for an interlocutory injunction which will come up on January 7 2025.
In a similar case, the Oyo state High Court has also issued another interim injunction stopping Dele Farotimi' and his partners from printing any new copies of the book 'Nigeria and it's Criminal Justice System.
Justice Mufutau Adegbola granted the order after hearing an ex-parte application filled by another senior partner at the Afe Babalola law firm.
The Court directed Dele Farotimi' be notified of the motion which is scheduled for January 7 2025.
Dele Farotimi' Lawyer and human rights activist has been held in detention since his book, Nigeria and it's Criminal Justice System was published.
The book remains an expose of the extent of corruption in the Nigeria Justice System ,where Justice is purchased by whoever can pay for it.
