Fubara regains control as APP wins 22 out of 23 chairmanship seats in RiversWith the exception of one, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara's followers running as the Action Peoples Party (APP) won 23 chairperson posts, giving him back control of the Local Government structure.
The results were announced on Saturday night in Port Harcourt, the state capital, by Justice Adolphus Enebeli, Chief Election Officer of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission.
After his supporters won the contentious Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) congress last month, Wike briefly assumed control of the local government system.
Still refusing to give up, Fubara ordered his supporters to switch to APP in order to run for office.

Fubara has been in a power tussle with the former Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Woke over who controls the state until now.
With this win Fubara may have proven his gripe on the state.
